Marie Curie  (short name: Marie Curie) (7 November 1867 – 4 July 1934) was a well-known physicist and chemist. Marie discovered radium. He is the first scientist to be awarded the Nobel Prize in two branches of science (Physics and Chemistry).

Marie was born in Warsaw, Poland. Due to being a woman, then in Warsaw, it was allowed only for limited education. So they had to get higher education by concealing them. Later, due to the financial assistance of the elder sister, she came to Paris to study physics and mathematics.

He has the distinction of becoming the first woman to complete a doctorate in France. He also got the distinction of being the first woman to become a professor at the University of Paris.

Here he met Pierre Curie, who became his husband. The scientific couple discovered the important role of polonium in 1898. A few months later, he also searched for radium. This proved to be a significant revolutionary discovery in the treatment of medical science and diseases.
