My Favorite Author: I have been a book lover since my childhood. I like to read detective stories most of all. Naturally, my favourite author is none other than Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the creator of the world’s most famous detective character, Sherlock Holmes. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is undoubtedly one of the most popular detective story writers. His detective character, Mr. Sherlock Holmes, stands out for his extraordinary sharp, keen, and accurate observation and intelligence.
Dr. Watson is the assistant of the great detective, and they both take the readers to various places and situations and introduce them to numerous strange characters and interesting plots. Recently, I read his book entitled The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. The book contains twelve interesting detective stories. Each story contains an interesting plot full of thrilling incidents that charm my mind greatly.

The author, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, knows very well how to tell a nice story to his readers and how to increase the mystery and suspense in his readers’ minds. When I read the stories, it seems to me that I already know most of the places and almost all of the people as described in the stories. The stories give us unique experiences of human life and its activities.
They give us an insight into the complexities of human character and how their unnatural desires lead them to ultimate destruction. Sometimes, we are able to solve many difficult problems with the help of knowledge obtained from these stories.
The book is really interesting and attractive too. The stories like The Red-Headed League, The Five Orange Pips, The Adventure of the Speckled Band, and The Adventure of the Copper Beeches are my most favourites to me.
Mr. Sherlock Holmes, the successful detective of all the stories, is a brilliant observer. He judges every event and human character by applying his sharp and extraordinary intelligence. His role is truly unique and marvelous. I am very fond of Mr. Sherlock Holmes and his assistant, Dr. Watson. I like to read the stories of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle again and again whenever I get a little chance to read, other than my textbooks. When I grow up, I have a plan to collect the complete works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and read them thoroughly.
